The Story :

Pandavas asked Lord Krishna the reason for their suffering during their Agyat-Vaas, God told him about this Agyatvaas due to their Pitra-Rina (ancestor’s debt). At the same time, he described the significance of worshiping Lord Shiva in the form of Rin Mukteshwar. Then the Pandavas worshiped Lord Rin-Mukteshwar on the banks of the Narmada Kaveri Sangam in Omkareshwar and built a temple.
